Mary Lou Ash Sponsorship
(in support of AAUW's Tech Trek Camp)

The American Association of University Women (AAUW) is a national organization that advocates equity for women and girls.  The AAUW sponsors a summer camp (Tech Trek camp) to middle school girls that have an interest in science, technology, engineering and mathemantics (STEM).

Our club has contributed to this Tech Trek camp by giving a $1,000 sponsorship to a seventh grade female student from Somis Elementary School who has been nominated by their math, science, or technology teachers. Students are chosen who their teachers believe will benefit most from a life-changing experience at this camp.  We continue to give this sponsorship each year, as funds allow.

We have chosen to name our $1,000 sponsorship the “Mary Lou Ash Sponsorship” honoring her as our current member with the most longevity in The Somis Town and Country Club.
